What is dental implant? 

Implant are screws made of titanium used in the treatment of missing teeth and placed inside the jaw bone. The dental prosthesis is implanted into these screws. The advantage of implant treatment over other treatments is that neighboring teeth are not damaged. In other words, no need for neighboring gear cutting. The implant acts as a dental root and you can easily eat, talk and laugh like a natural tooth.

Implant treatment conditions

Our dentist checks the person's overall health and whether the jaw structure is compatible with dental implant treatment before the dental implant operation. An x-ray is taken from the patient to determine the mouth modeling.

• If a single tooth is lost, a single implant can be applied without damaging other neighboring teeth.

How long should an implant last?

How long is recovery time?

Today, it is even possible to perform implant operations in just 10 minutes. The total time varies depending on the type of operation determined according to your tooth and bone structure. Will I feel pain during implant application?

Local anesthesia that we use during tooth extraction is sufficient for a painless intervention. Conscious sedation or general anesthesia may be required due to some medical requirements or at the request of the patient. The painkiller that we give will be enough for you to have a comfortable postoperative period.

Most of our patients notice that less discomfort than a tooth extraction. You will not even feel the presence of implants in your mouth after your treatments are over.

Is there a risk of implants that being rejected by the body?

Research on surface properties has shown that titanium is tissue-friendly. Therefore, titanium has been used in implant production for a long time. There is no rejection of the implant by the body.

However, infections that develop during the recovery period and factors such as not paying attention to oral hygiene by patients, excessive consumption of alcohol and cigarettes; it can prevent the implant from joining with the bone. Depending on this, the implant may be lost. With the regular dentist checks and good oral hygiene, you can extend the life of your implants.

What happens if the implant screws don't bond with bone?

If proper implant methods and standard implant treatment procedures are not used in treatment techniques, unintended consequences may occur. Although such a possibility is quite low, these failures are mostly problems that begin to manifest themselves within the first 2 and 3 months of starting surgical interventions.

In such a case, the implant has to be removed from the implanted area as easily as tooth extraction. Following the healing of the bone in this area, a new implant can be placed or one of the classical type prostheses can be preferred.
